ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು; ಕರ್ತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯೊರ್ದ ನಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣದ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರಿ ಬ್ಬರೂ ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆದರು.
Eleeyanu avanige--neenu dayamaadi ille iru; kartanu nannannu yorda nige kaluhisuttaane andanu. Adakkavanu--kartana jeevadaane, ninna praanada jeevadaane, naanu ninnannu biduvadilla andanu. Haageye avari bbaroo mundakke nadedaru.

- 4ಅದಕ್ಕ ವನು--ಹೌದು, ನಾನು ಕೂಡ ಬಲ್ಲೆ; ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರ್ರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಎಲೀಷನೇ, ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು; ಕರ್ತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯೆರಿಕೋ ವಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣದ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
- 5ಆಗ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರುವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಎಲೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನು ಇಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೀಯೋ ಅಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ನಾನು ಕೂಡ ಬಲ್ಲೆ, ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರ್ರಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 6ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು; ಕರ್ತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯೊರ್ದ ನಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣದ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರಿ ಬ್ಬರೂ ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆದರು.
- 7ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಹೋಗಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತರು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು.
- 8ಎಲೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಹೊದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಮಡಚಿಕೊಂಡು ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಆಗ ಆ ನೀರು ವಿಭಾಗವಾದದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಒಣ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಟಿಹೋದರು.
