ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಹೋಗಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತರು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು.

- 6ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು; ಕರ್ತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯೊರ್ದ ನಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣದ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರಿ ಬ್ಬರೂ ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆದರು.
- 7ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಹೋಗಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತರು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು.
- 8ಎಲೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಹೊದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಮಡಚಿಕೊಂಡು ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಆಗ ಆ ನೀರು ವಿಭಾಗವಾದದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಒಣ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಟಿಹೋದರು.
- 9ಅವರು ದಾಟಿಹೋದ ತರುವಾಯ ಆದದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ, ಎಲೀಯನು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಯಿಂದ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಷನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನಿನಗಿರುವ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಎರಡು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
