ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ಥಿತಿವಂತರಾದ ಏಳುಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಾರರೂ ಮತ್ತು ಕಮ್ಮಾರರೂ ಆದ ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದನು.

- 17ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರ ಸನು ಯೆಹೋಯಾಖೀನನ ಚಿಕ್ಕಪ್ಪನಾದ ಮತ್ತನ್ಯ ನನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರನ್ನಿಟ್ಟನು.
- 18ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪ ತ್ತೊಂದು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹನ್ನೊಂದು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಲಿಬ್ನದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನ ಮಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹಮೂಟಲ್‌ ಎಂಬ ವಳು.
