1. 28ಅರಸನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ದುಃಖ ವೇನು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು--ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಡು; ನಾಳೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನೋಣ ಅಂದಳು.
2. 29ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಬೇಯಿಸಿ ತಿಂದೆವು. ಮಾರನೇ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಡು ಅಂದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾಳೆ ಅಂದಳು.
3. 30ಅರಸನು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾದುಹೋದನು. ಜನರು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಒಳಗೆ ಅವನ ಶರೀರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟು ಇತ್ತು.
4. 31ಆಗ ಅವನು -- ಶಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಷನ ತಲೆಯು ಈ ದಿನ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಇದರಂತೆಯೂ ಇನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
5. 32ಎಲೀಷನು ಹಿರಿಯರ ಜೊತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ಎಲೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಅವನು ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ--ಈ ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನ ಮಗನು ನನ್ನ ತಲೆ ಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಿರೋ? ನೋಡಿರಿ; ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಬಾಗಲು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಬಾಗಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಅವನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಪಾದಗಳ ಶಬ್ದವು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದನು.ಅವನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು--ಇಗೋ, ಈ ಕೇಡು ಕರ್ತನಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು; ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವದೇನು ಅಂದನು.
