ಆ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗಿಗಳು ದಂಡಿನ ಅಂಚಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಬಂದು ಒಂದು ಡೇರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿದು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟರು; ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಡೇರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದಲೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟರು.

- 7ಅವರು ಸಂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕುದುರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.

- 9ಆಗ ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು -- ನಾವು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಒಳ್ಳೇದಲ್ಲ; ಈ ದಿವಸ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಸಮಾಚಾರದ ದಿವಸ; ನಾವು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇದ್ದು ಉದಯವಾಗುವ ವರೆಗೆ ತಡೆದರೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವೆವು; ಆದಕಾರಣ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ನಾವು ಹೋಗಿ ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸೋಣ ಎಂದು ಮಾತಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
- 10ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಬಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಲು ಕಾಯುವವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ -- ನಾವು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಂದೆವು; ಇಗೋ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕುದುರೆಗಳೂ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳೂ ನಿಶ್ಯಬ್ದವಾದ ಡೇರೆಗಳೂ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಮನು ಷ್ಯನಾದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಶಬ್ದವಾದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದರು.
