2. 7ಆದರೆ ಈಗಿನ ಆಕಾಶಗಳೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಅದೇ ವಾಕ್ಯದಿಂದ ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ನ್ಯಾಯ ತೀರ್ವಿಕೆಯ ದಿನದವರೆಗೂ ಭಕ್ತಿಹೀನರ ನಾಶನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಕಾದಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂಬದು.
3. 8ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ಕರ್ತನ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದಿನವು ಸಾವಿರ ವರುಷಗಳಂತೆಯೂ ಸಾವಿರ ವರುಷಗಳು ಒಂದು ದಿನದಂತೆಯೂ ಅವೆ ಎಂಬದನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ತಿಳಿಯದವರಾಗಿರಬೇಡಿರಿ.
4. 9ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ವಾಗ್ದಾನದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ತಡಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆಂಬದಾಗಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಎಣಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಆತನು ತಡಮಾಡುವಾತನಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗುವದರಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತಿ ಯುಳ್ಳವ
5. 10ಆದರೂ ಕರ್ತನ ದಿನವು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳನು ಬರುವಂತೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕಾಶಗಳು ಮಹಾಘೋಷದಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗು ವವು. ಅತಿ ಉಷ್ಣದಿಂದ ಪಂಚಭೂತಗಳು ಉರಿದು ಲಯವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವವು; ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ರುವ ಕೆಲಸಗಳೂ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವವು.
