ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿ ಗಳೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಎಡ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರುವಾಗ ಅವನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಊಳಿಗದವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದನು.

- 4ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಚೀಬನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನದಾಯಿತು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚೀಬನು--ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆ ಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆದೊರಕಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
- 5ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಹುರೀಮಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಸೌಲನ ಗೋತ್ರದವನಾದಂಥ ಗೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ದೂಷಿಸುತ್ತಾ ನಡೆದು ಬಂದನು.
- 6ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿ ಗಳೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಎಡ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರುವಾಗ ಅವನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಊಳಿಗದವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದನು.
- 7ಶಿಮ್ಮಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸುತ್ತಾ--ರಕ್ತದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ಬೆಲಿಯಾಳನ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ಹೊರಟು ಬಾ, ಹೊರಟು ಬಾ.
- 8ಕರ್ತನು ಸೌಲನ ಮನೆಯವರ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ನೀನು ರಕ್ತದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದದರಿಂದ ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೇಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡಿ ಅಂದನು.
