ಹೂಷೈಯು ಯಾಜಕರಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನಿಗೂ ಎಬ್ಯಾತಾರನಿಗೂ--ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋ ಮನಿಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೂ ಇಂಥಿಂಥ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

13ಅವನು ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಒಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಕ್ಕರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಗ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು ಹಾಕಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ನಾವು ಒಂದು ಹರಳಾದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನದಿಗೆ ಎಳೆದು ಹಾಕುವೆವು ಅಂದನು.
14ಆಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾ ಲೋಮನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೂಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಿಂತ ಅರ್ಕೀಯನಾದ ಹೂಷೈಯ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದು ಅಂದರು. ತಾನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
15ಹೂಷೈಯು ಯಾಜಕರಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನಿಗೂ ಎಬ್ಯಾತಾರನಿಗೂ--ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋ ಮನಿಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೂ ಇಂಥಿಂಥ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
16ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಇಂಥಿಂಥ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ತ್ವರೆ ಯಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ನೀನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಬೈಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗಬೇಡ; ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಬೇಗ ದಾಟಿಹೋಗು ಅಂದನು.
17ಆದರೆ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಅಹೀಮಾ ಚನೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಯಾರೂ ನೋಡ ದಂತೆ ಎನ್ರೋಗೆಲಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ದಾಸಿಯು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಳು.
