2. 17ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರಿದ್ದರು. ಸೌಲನ ಮನೆಯ ಸೇವಕ ನಾದ ಚೀಬನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ತನ್ನ ಹದಿನೈದು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರೂ ತನ್ನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
3. 18ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಈಚೆ ದಡಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಅವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿ ತೋರಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ದಕ್ಕೂ ದೋಣಿಯು ಆಚೇ ದಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂತು; ಆಗ ಗೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯು ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟು ತ್ತಲೇ ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--
4. 19ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಅಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಎಣಿಸದೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುವ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ದಾಸನು ಮೂರ್ಖ ತನದಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೆನಸದೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡದೆ ಇರಲಿ.
5. 20ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದೆನೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿರುವ ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಇಗೋ, ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮನೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಈ ದಿನ ಬಂದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
