ಇಗೋ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಾದ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರು ಕಳ್ಳತನವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರ ತಂದದ್ದೇನು? ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ದಾವೀದನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು ಅಂದರು.

- 42ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಅರಸನು ನಮಗೆ ಸವಿಾಪ ಬಂಧು ವಾದದರಿಂದ; ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನೀವು ಕೋಪ ವಾಗಿರುವದೇನು? ನಾವು ಅರಸನ ಖರ್ಚಿನಿಂದ ಏನಾದರೂ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿದೆವೋ? ಅವನು ನಮಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟನೋ ಅಂದರು.ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರು ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ಅರಸನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಪಾಲುಂಟು; ನಿಮಗಿಂತ ನಮಗೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವದರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ದವರು ನಾವಲ್ಲವೋ? ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಲ್ಪವಾಗಿ ಎಣಿಸಿದಿರಿ ಅಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
- 43ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರು ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ಅರಸನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಪಾಲುಂಟು; ನಿಮಗಿಂತ ನಮಗೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವದರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ದವರು ನಾವಲ್ಲವೋ? ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಲ್ಪವಾಗಿ ಎಣಿಸಿದಿರಿ ಅಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
