ಅರಸನು ಅಮಾಸನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸ ಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇರು ಅಂದನು.

- 2ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಸರಿದು ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನಿಂದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
- 3ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅರಸನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಯಲಿಟ್ಟ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಗಳಾದ ಹತ್ತುಮಂದಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಕಾವಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿ ಸಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೂಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಸಾಯುವ ದಿವಸದ ವರೆಗೂ ಕಾವಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ವಿಧವೆಯರ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬದುಕಿದರು.
- 4ಅರಸನು ಅಮಾಸನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸ ಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇರು ಅಂದನು.
- 5ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅಮಾಸನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಲು ಹೋದನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾರದೆ ಆಲಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
- 6ಆದದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು ಅಬೀಷೈಗೆಈಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗಿಂತ ಬಿಕ್ರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನು ನಮಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವನು. ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ಗಡಿ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾ ದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟು ಅಂದನು.
