ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು ಸತ್ತ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಸತ್ತನೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳು ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೇಡಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಒಬ್ಬನು ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮುಂದೆ ಬೀಳುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀನು ಬಿದ್ದಿದೀ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅತ್ತರು.
Buddhiheenanu satta haageye abneranu sattano? Ninna kaigalu kattalpadalilla, illave ninna kaalugalige bedi haakalpadalilla; obbanu dushtara munde beeluva haageye neenu biddidee andanu. Aaga janarellaru tirigi avanigoskara attaru.

- 35ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೊತ್ತಿರು ವಾಗಲೇ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಬಂದು-- ಊಟಮಾಡು ಎಂದು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ದಾವೀದನು--ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಅಸ್ತಮಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ನಾನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನಾ ದರೂ ಮತ್ತೇನಾದರೂ ರುಚಿ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಹಾಗೇ ಮಾಡಲಿ, ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡ ಲೆಂದು ಆಣೆಇಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
- 36ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅರಸನು ಏನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದನೋ ಅದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
