ಬೇರೋತ್‌ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಪಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲೆಖ್ಖಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಬೇರೋತ್ಯರು ಗಿತ್ತಾಯಿಮಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

- 2ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ನಿಗೆ ಪಟಾಲಮಿನ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮನುಷ್ಯ ರಿದ್ದರು; ಒಬ್ಬನ ಹೆಸರು ಬಾಣ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಹೆಸರು ರೇಕಾಬ್‌; ಅವರು ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೋತಿ ನವನಾದ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು.
- 3ಬೇರೋತ್‌ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಪಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲೆಖ್ಖಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಬೇರೋತ್ಯರು ಗಿತ್ತಾಯಿಮಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
- 4ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ಕಾಲು ಕುಂಟಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನಿದ್ದನು. ಇಜ್ರೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಸೌಲನೂ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಸತ್ತರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ಐದು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ದಾದಿಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಿ ಹೋದಳು. ಅವಳು ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಓಡಿದಾಗ ಏನಾಯಿ ತಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಬಿದ್ದು ಕುಂಟನಾದನು. ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನು.
- 5ಬೇರೋತಿನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕ ಳಾದ ರೇಕಾಬನೂ ಬಾಣನೂ ಹೊರಟು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಬಿಸಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
