21ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ವಿಾಕಳಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗಿಂತಲೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮು ಖದ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಆಯಿತು.
22ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಆಡುವೆನು. ಇನ್ನೂ ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಲ್ಪನಾಗಿ ಇರುವೆನು; ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಚನಾಗಿರುವೆನು.ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ ದಾಸಿಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಘನವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.ಆದದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗಳಾದ ವಿಾಕಲಳು ತನ್ನ ಮರಣದ ದಿವಸದ ವರೆಗೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದವಳಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.
