ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--

2ಅರ ಸನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ--ನೋಡು, ನಾನು ದೇವದಾರುಗಳ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ತೆರೆಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದೆ ಅಂದನು.
3ಆಗ ನಾತಾನನು ಅರಸ ನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಡು; ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
4ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--
5ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದ ದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಾನು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವಿಯೋ?
6ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾಲ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಮನೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡದೆ ಡೇರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗುಡಾರ ದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆನು.
