ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯನಾದ ಸ್ಕೇವನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

12ಜನರು ಅವನ ಮೈಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಕೈವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಡಿವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಂದು ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕಲು ಅವರವರ ರೋಗಗಳು ವಾಸಿಯಾದವು, ದೆವ್ವಗಳೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದವು.
13ಆಗ ದೆವ್ವ ಬಿಡಿಸುವವರಾಗಿ ದೇಶಸಂಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ದುರಾತ್ಮ ಹಿಡಿದವ ರಿಗೆ--ಪೌಲನು ಸಾರುವ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಆಣೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಡಗಿದರು.
14ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯನಾದ ಸ್ಕೇವನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
15ಆದರೆ ದುರಾತ್ಮವು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನಾನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು, ಪೌಲನನ್ನೂ ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ನೀವಾದರೆ ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿತು.
16ದುರಾತ್ಮಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾರಿಬಿದ್ದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಬಲಾತ್ಕರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡು ಆ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದರು.
