ತನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಾ ದವರು ಶದ್ರಕ್‌, ಮೇಷಕ್‌, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬವರನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ, ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಆವಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.

- 19ಆಗ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಉಗ್ರದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದವನಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮುಖದ ರೂಪವು ಶದ್ರಕ್‌ ಮೇಷಕ್‌ಅಬೇದ್‌ ನೇಗೋ ಎಂಬ ವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬೇರೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಆ ಆವಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಾರಣವಾದ ಉರಿ ಗಿಂತ ಏಳರಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಉರಿಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿ ಸಿದನು.

- 21ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಶಲ್ಯ, ಇಜಾರು, ಮುಂಡಾಸ ಮೊದಲಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಅವರು ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಆವಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು.
- 22ಅರಸನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯು ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣವಾಗಿಯೂ ಆವಿಗೆಯು ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿದದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಶದ್ರಕ್‌ ಮೇಷಕ್‌ ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬವರನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಹಾಕಿದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೇ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿತು.
