ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದರು. ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳೂ ಪತ್ನಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರೂ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಡಿದರು.

2ಆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ರುಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಬೆಲ್ಯಚ್ಚರನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯ ದೊಳಗಿಂದ ತಂದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳೂ ಅವನ ಪತ್ನಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತರಲು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
3ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದರು. ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳೂ ಪತ್ನಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರೂ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಡಿದರು.
4ಅವರು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದು ಬಂಗಾರ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ಕಂಚು, ಕಬ್ಬಿಣ, ಮರ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳತೊಡಗಿದರು.
5ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹಸ್ತವು ಬಂದು ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಅರಮನೆಯ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಣ್ಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದವು; ಅರಸನು ಆ ಬರೆಯುವ ಕೈಭಾಗವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದನು.
