ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸವಿಾಪವಾಗಿರದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನ ಗುರುತು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಹೋದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಒಯ್ಯಬೇಕು; ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಬೇಕು; ತರುವಾಯ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

- 1ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಎತ್ತಾಗಲಿ ಕುರಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ತಪ್ಪಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು; ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.
- 2ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸವಿಾಪವಾಗಿರದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನ ಗುರುತು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಹೋದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಒಯ್ಯಬೇಕು; ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಬೇಕು; ತರುವಾಯ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.
- 3ಅವನ ಕತ್ತೆಗೆ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು; ಅವನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕು; ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು;
- 4ನೀನು ಕಾಣದವನಂತೆ ಇರಬಾರದು. ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಕತ್ತೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಎತ್ತಾಗಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡ ಬೇಡ; ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತಾ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
