1. 13ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟನಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ತನ್ನ ನೆರಳಿನ ಹಾಗಿ ರುವ ಅವನ ದಿವಸಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಭಯಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
2. 14ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಒಂದು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದದ್ದಿದೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ಕೆಲಸದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಕೆಲಸದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವ ದುಷ್ಟರಿ ದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದೂ ಸಹ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.
3. 15ಆಗ ನಾನು ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳಿದೆನು. ಮನು ಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದೂ ತಿನ್ನುವದೂ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುವದೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೇನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಯದು ಇಲ್ಲ; ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಜೀವನದ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಪಡುವ ಕಷ್ಟದಿಂದ ಅದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ.
