ಆಗ ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನು--ರಾಣಿಯಾದ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಯಾರು? ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
Aaga arasa naada ahashveroshanu--raaniyaada esteralige pratyuttaravaagi ee prakaara maadalu tanna hrudaya tumbikondavanu yaaru? Avanu elli andanu.

- 4ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ಜನವೂ ಸಂಹರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪ ಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾಶಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಮಾರಲ್ಪಟ್ಟೆವು. ನಾವು ದಾಸದಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾರಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾನು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು; ಆದರೆ ವೈರಿ ಅರಸನ ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಲಾರನು ಅಂದಳು.
- 5ಆಗ ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನು--ರಾಣಿಯಾದ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಯಾರು? ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 6ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳು--ವೈರಿಯೂ ಶತ್ರುವೂ ಯಾರಂದರೆ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಾದ ಹಾಮಾನನೇ ಅಂದಳು. ಆಗ ಹಾಮಾನನು ಅರಸನ, ರಾಣಿಯ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆದರಿ ಕೊಂಡನು.
- 7ಅರಸನು ಕೋಪವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾ ರಸದ ಔತಣದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಅರಮನೆಯ ತೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಆದರೆ ಹಾಮಾನನು ರಾಣಿಯಾದ ಎಸ್ತೇ ರಳ ಮುಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ನಿಂತನು, ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಸನಿಂದ ತನಗೆ ಕೇಡು ನಿರ್ಣಯವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದನು.
