ಹೀಗೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೆಂಪು ಸಮುದ್ರದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು; ಅವರು ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಣ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದರು; ಅವರು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ದಿನ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

- 21ಮಿರ್ಯಾಮಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಉತ್ತರವೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಹಾಡಿರಿ, ಆತನು ಮಹಿಮೆಯಿಂದ ಜಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕುದುರೆಯನ್ನು ಸವಾರ ನನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬದು.
- 22ಹೀಗೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೆಂಪು ಸಮುದ್ರದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು; ಅವರು ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಣ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದರು; ಅವರು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ದಿನ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
- 23ಅವರು ಮಾರಾಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾರಾದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಲಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದು ಕಹಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅದರ ಹೆಸರು ಮಾರಾ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
- 24ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಜನರು--ನಾವು ಏನು ಕುಡಿಯೋಣ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಗುಣುಗುಟ್ಟಿದರು.
