ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಹೋರೇಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು ನೀನು ಬಂಡೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯ ಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಜನರು ಕುಡಿಯುವಂತೆ ನೀರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವದು ಅಂದನು. ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

- 6ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಹೋರೇಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು ನೀನು ಬಂಡೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯ ಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಜನರು ಕುಡಿಯುವಂತೆ ನೀರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವದು ಅಂದನು. ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
- 7ಅವನು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಮಸ್ಸಾ ಮೆರಿಬಾ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ವಿವಾದ ಮಾಡಿದರು.-- ಕರ್ತನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರು.
