ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಹುಲ್ಲು ಕೊಡದೆ--ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಇದೆ ಅಂದರು.

Ninna daasarige avaru hullu kodade--ittigegalannu maadiri endu namage heluttaare. Igo, ninna daasarannu hodeyuttaare. Aadare ninna svanta janaralliye tappu ide andaru.

King James Version (KJV): There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants [are] beaten; but the fault [is] in thine own people.

14ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ಫರೋಹನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ನೇಮಿಸಿ ದವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಮೊದಲು ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನೆ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಯಾಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡಿಸಿದರು.
15ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಫರೋ ಹನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ--ಯಾಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ?
16ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಹುಲ್ಲು ಕೊಡದೆ--ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಇದೆ ಅಂದರು.
17ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು--ನೀವು ಮೈಗಳ್ಳರು, ನೀವು ಮೈಗಳ್ಳರಾದ ಕಾರಣ--ನಾವು ಹೋಗಿ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಯರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ.
18ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಈಗ ಹೋಗಿ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡಿರಿ, ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು.
