ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ಫರೋಹನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ನೇಮಿಸಿ ದವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಮೊದಲು ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನೆ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಯಾಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡಿಸಿದರು.

King James Version (KJV): And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, [and] demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?
World English Bible (WEB): The officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and were asked, “Why haven’t you fulfilled your quota both yesterday and today, in making brick as before?”

13ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸು ವವರು--ಹುಲ್ಲು ಇದ್ದಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ದಂತೆಯೇ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ದಿನದ ಕೆಲಸ ವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸಿಬಿಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ತ್ವರೆಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

15ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಫರೋ ಹನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ--ಯಾಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ?
16ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಹುಲ್ಲು ಕೊಡದೆ--ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಇದೆ ಅಂದರು.
