1. 15ಆದರೆ ಫರೋಹನು ತನಗೆ ಉಪಶಮನವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ತಿಳಿ ದಾಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
2. 16ಅನಂತರ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತ ನಾಡಿ--ನೀನು ಆರೋನನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆ. ಆಗ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಧೂಳು ಹೇನುಗಳಾಗುವವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು ಅಂದನು.
3. 17ಅವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆರೋನನು ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅದನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಆಗ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪಶುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೇನುಗಳಾ ದವು. ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಧೂಳು ಹೇನುಗಳಾದವು.
4. 18ಮಂತ್ರಗಾರರು ಹೇನುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿ ದರು, ಆದರೆ ಆಗದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇನುಗಳು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಪಶುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇದ್ದವು.
5. 19ಆಗ ಮಂತ್ರಗಾರರು ಫರೋಹ ನಿಗೆ--ಇದು ದೇವರ ಕೈಯಾಗಿದೆ ಅಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಫರೋಹನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕಠಿಣ ವಾಯಿತು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
