ಅನಂತರ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತ ನಾಡಿ--ನೀನು ಆರೋನನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆ. ಆಗ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಧೂಳು ಹೇನುಗಳಾಗುವವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು ಅಂದನು.

- 17ಅವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆರೋನನು ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅದನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಆಗ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪಶುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೇನುಗಳಾ ದವು. ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಧೂಳು ಹೇನುಗಳಾದವು.
- 18ಮಂತ್ರಗಾರರು ಹೇನುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿ ದರು, ಆದರೆ ಆಗದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇನುಗಳು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಪಶುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇದ್ದವು.
