ಮೋಶೆಯು ಫರೋಹನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಚಾಚಿದನು. ಆಗ ಗುಡುಗುಗಳೂ ಆನೆಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಳೆಯೂ ನಿಂತುಹೋದವು. ಇನ್ನು ಮಳೆಯು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

- 34ಆನೆಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಳೆಯೂ ಗುಡುಗುಗಳೂ ನಿಂತುಹೋದದ್ದನ್ನು ಫರೋಹನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.ಫರೋಹನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕಠಿಣ ವಾಯಿತು; ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
- 35ಫರೋಹನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕಠಿಣ ವಾಯಿತು; ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
