ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--ಇವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವ ದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವನು ಅಂದನು.

- 2ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು--ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರೇ, ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೇನು? ನಾನು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಈ ದಮಸ್ಕದವನಾದ ಎಲೀಯೆಜರನು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನಾ ಗಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂದನು.
- 3ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು--ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಇಗೋ, ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ನನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗಿ ರುವನು ಅಂದಾಗ
- 4ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--ಇವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವ ದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವನು ಅಂದನು.
- 5ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು--ಈಗ ನೀನು ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ ಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಶಕ್ತನಾದರೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸು ಅಂದನು. ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಯು ಆಗುವದು ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
- 6ಅಬ್ರಾ ಮನು ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೀತಿ ಎಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿದನು.
