ಸಾರಳಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಸಾವಿರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಹಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಉಳಿದವರೆ ಲ್ಲರಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಇವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿನ ಮುಸುಕಿನಂತೆ ಇರಲಿ ಅಂದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಆಕೆಯು ಗದರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಳು.

- 17ಆಗ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನೂ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡಿ ದನು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದರು.ಕರ್ತನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಸಾರಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಂಜೆಯರಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನು.
