1. 7ಆ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವನು--ರೆಬೆಕ್ಕಳು ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಳಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈಕೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಜನರು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಾರೆಂದು ಆಕೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಜಿ ಅವನು--ಆಕೆಯು ನನ್ನ ತಂಗಿ ಅಂದನು.
2. 8ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ದಿನಗಳಿದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆ ಕನು ಕಿಟಕಿಯಿಂದ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದಾಗ ಅಗೋ, ಇಸಾಕನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ರೆಬೆಕ್ಕಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಸರಸವಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
3. 9ಆಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಇಸಾಕ ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು--ಅಗೋ, ಆಕೆಯು ಖಂಡಿತ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀನು--ಆಕೆಯು ನನ್ನ ತಂಗಿ ಎಂದು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೇಳಿದಿ ಅಂದನು. ಇಸಾಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಆಕೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸಾಯಬಾರ ದೆಂದು ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
4. 10ಆಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು--ನೀನು ನಮಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂದನು.
5. 11ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಮುಟ್ಟುವವನು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
