1. 13ಲಾಬಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಅವನು ಲಾಬಾನನಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
2. 14ಆಗ ಲಾಬಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಎಲುಬೂ ಮಾಂಸವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀ ಅಂದನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳು ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
3. 15ತರುವಾಯ ಲಾಬಾನನು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಯಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಬಳ ಎಷ್ಟೆಂಬದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳು ಅಂದನು.
4. 16ಲಾಬಾನನಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರಿದ್ದರು. ಹಿರಿಯಳ ಹೆಸರು ಲೇಯಳು, ಕಿರಿಯಳ ಹೆಸರು ರಾಹೇಲಳು.
5. 17ಲೇಯಳ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಮೃದುವಾಗಿದ್ದವು; ಆದರೆ ರಾಹೇಲಳು ಬಹು ಸುಂದರಿಯೂ ರೂಪವತಿಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಳು.
