2. 14ರೂಬೇನನು ಗೋದಿ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಲೇಯಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದಾಗ ರಾಹೇಲಳು ಲೇಯಳಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನ ದುದಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡು ಅಂದಳು.
3. 15ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕೆಯು--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡದ್ದು ಅಲ್ಪಕಾರ್ಯವೋ? ನೀನು ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ತಂದ ದುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಯೋ ಅಂದಾಗ ರಾಹೇಲಳು--ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ತಂದ ದುದಾಯಗಳಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಈ ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಲಿ ಅಂದಳು.
4. 16ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಲದಿಂದ ಬಂದಾಗ ಲೇಯಳು ಅವನೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕು; ನನ್ನ ಮಗನ ದುದಾಯಗಳ ಬಾಡಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದಳು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದನು.
5. 17ಆಗ ದೇವರು ಲೇಯಳನ್ನು ಆಲೈಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಐದನೆಯ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು.
