ಆದರೆ ಕುರಿಗಳು ಬಲಹೀನವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನು ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ದೋಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಬಲಹೀನ ವಾದವುಗಳು ಲಾಬಾನನಿಗೂ ಬಲವಾದವುಗಳು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೂ ಆದವು.ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬಹು ಕುರಿಗಳೂ ದಾಸದಾಸಿ ಯರೂ ಒಂಟೆಗಳೂ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೊರೆತವು.

40ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಲಾಬಾನನ ಮಂದೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೇಖೆಗಳು ಳ್ಳವುಗಳೆದುರಾಗಿಯೂ ಕಂದು ಬಣ್ಣ ಉಳ್ಳವು ಗಳಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿಯೂ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಲಾಬಾನನ ಮಂದೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸದೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡನು.
41ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ಆಡು ಕುರಿಗಳು ಸಂಗಮ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಆ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಸಂಗಮಮಾಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಯಾಕೋಬನು ದೋಣಿ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟನು.
42ಆದರೆ ಕುರಿಗಳು ಬಲಹೀನವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನು ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ದೋಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಬಲಹೀನ ವಾದವುಗಳು ಲಾಬಾನನಿಗೂ ಬಲವಾದವುಗಳು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೂ ಆದವು.ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬಹು ಕುರಿಗಳೂ ದಾಸದಾಸಿ ಯರೂ ಒಂಟೆಗಳೂ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೊರೆತವು.
