ಲಾಬಾನನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ --ಈ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರು ನನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರೇ; ಈ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ; ಈ ಮಂದೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಂದೆಯೇ; ಅಂತೂ ನೀನು ನೋಡುವದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನ್ನದೇ. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಅವರು ಹೆತ್ತ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಲಿ ನಾನು ಈಹೊತ್ತು ಏನು ಮಾಡಲಿ?

42ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ದೇವರೂ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸಾಕನು ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ದೇವರೂ ನನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರಿಗೈಯಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿ; ನನ್ನ ಬಾಧೆ ಯನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಕೈ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನೂ ದೇವರು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನ್ನೆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿದನು ಅಂದನು.

44ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಈಗ ಬಾ, ನಾನೂ ನೀನೂ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡೋಣ; ಅದು ನನಗೂ ನಿನಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
45ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಒಂದು ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ತಂಭವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು;
