ನಾನು ಈ ಕುಪ್ಪೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬರುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀನು ಈ ಕುಪ್ಪೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ತಂಭವನ್ನು ಕೇಡಿಗಾಗಿ ದಾಟುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕುಪ್ಪೆಯೂ ಸ್ತಂಭವೂ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿವೆ.

- 53ಅಬ್ರಹಾ ಮನ ದೇವರು, ನಾಹೋರನ ದೇವರು, ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯ ತೀರಿಸಲಿ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸಾಕನು ಭಯದಿಂದ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ದೇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದನು.
- 54ಯಾಕೋ ಬನು ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ಕರೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡರು.ಹೊತ್ತಾರೆ ಲಾಬಾನನು ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರರಿಗೂ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆ ಯರಿಗೂ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದನು. ಲಾಬಾನನು ಹೊರಟು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
