ಆ ಮಗುವು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವಳು--ನೀನು ಛೇದಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ಈ ದೋಷವು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಲಿ ಅಂದಳು.ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪೆರೆಚ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು. ತರುವಾಯ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಂಪು ನೂಲು ಇದ್ದ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಜೆರಹ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು.
Aa maguvu tanna kaiyannu hindakke eledaaga igo, avana sahodaranu horage bandanu. Aaga avalu--neenu chhedisiddenu? Ee doshavu ninna mele irali andalu.heege avanige perech endu hesaraayitu. Taruvaaya tanna kaiyalli kempu noolu idda avana sahodaranu horage bandanu. Avanige jeraha endu hesaraayitu.
