1. 4ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರೆ ನಾವು ಇಳಿದುಹೋಗಿ ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ.
2. 5ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನಾವು ಹೋಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು--ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
3. 6ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು--ನಿಮಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ತಮ್ಮನು ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನೀವು ಯಾಕೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ನನಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಅಂದದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ
4. 7ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ವಂಶದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿ--ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೋ? ನಿಮಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಸಹೋದರನು ಇದ್ದಾನೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ದನು. ಆಗ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆವು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವನು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವನೆಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವದು ಅಂದರು.
5. 8ಯೆಹೂದನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ--ಆ ಹುಡುಗ ನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕಳುಹಿಸು; ನಾವು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗುವೆವು. ನಾವೂ ನೀನೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಸಾಯದೆ ಬದುಕುವೆವು.
