ಹೀಗೆ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಫರೋಹನದಾಯಿತು. ಅವನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಒಂದು ಮೇರೆಯಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಮೇರೆಯ ವರೆಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿದನು.

19ನಾವೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿಗೆ ಸಾಯುವದು ಯಾಕೆ? ನಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕೊಂಡುಕೋ. ಆಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಫರೋಹನ ವಶವಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗುಲಾಮರಾಗಿರುವೆವು. ನಮಗೆ ಬೀಜವನ್ನು ಕೊಡು; ಆಗ ನಾವು ಸಾಯದೆ ಬದುಕುವೆವು, ಭೂಮಿಯು ಹಾಳಾಗದೆ ಇರುವದು ಅಂದರು.
20ಆಗ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶ ವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಫರೋಹನಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡನು. ಹೇಗಂದರೆ, ಬರವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮ ಹೊಲಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು
21ಹೀಗೆ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಫರೋಹನದಾಯಿತು. ಅವನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಒಂದು ಮೇರೆಯಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಮೇರೆಯ ವರೆಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿದನು.
22ವೈದಿಕರ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವನು ಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಫರೋಹನು ವೈದಿಕರಿಗೆ ಭಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು; ಆದ ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
23ಆಗ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಜನರಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಇಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ ಫರೋಹನಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಇಗೋ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೀಜವಿದೆ. ನೀವು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಜಬಿತ್ತಿರಿ.
