ಆಗ ಒಂಭತ್ತನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನು ಚಳಿಗಾಲದ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

- 23ಆಗ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಯೆಹೂದಿಯು ಮೂರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪುಟಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಚೂರಿ ಯಿಂದ ಕೊಯ್ದು ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಸುರಳಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
- 24ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿದ ಅರಸನಾದರೂ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ಹೆದರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ತಮ್ಮವಸ್ತ್ರ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
