ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಆ ಸುರಳಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಯೆಹೂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಎಲೀಷಾಮನ ಕೊಠಡಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು; ಯೆಹೂದಿಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ರಿಗೂ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

- 23ಆಗ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಯೆಹೂದಿಯು ಮೂರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪುಟಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಚೂರಿ ಯಿಂದ ಕೊಯ್ದು ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಸುರಳಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
