ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾ ನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವರು ಓಡಿಸ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಬಹು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿದರು.

13ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾ ನನೂ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು
14ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬಾಲೀ ಸನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆಯೋ? ಆದರೆ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಂಬಲಿಲ್ಲ.
