ಅವನ ಕುಮಾರರು ಹೋಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನವನ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ದಕ್ಕೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೂವರು ಸಹೋದರಿಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

Avana kumaararu hogi tamma tamma manegalalli avanavana divasadalli autanavannu maadisi tamma sangada tinnuvadakkoo kudiyuva dakkoo tamma moovaru sahodariyarannu kare kaluhisuttiddaru.

2ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏಳುಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾ ರರೂ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರೂ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ದರು.
3ಅವನ ಸಂಪತ್ತು--ಏಳು ಸಾವಿರ ಕುರಿಗಳು, ಮೂರು ಸಾವಿರ ಒಂಟೆಗಳು, ಐನೂರು ಜೋಡು ಎತ್ತುಗಳು, ಐನೂರು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಕತ್ತೆಗಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹು ಸೇವಕರ ಸಮೂಹವಿತ್ತು. ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮೂಡಣದವರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಬಹು ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವ ನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
4ಅವನ ಕುಮಾರರು ಹೋಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನವನ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ದಕ್ಕೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೂವರು ಸಹೋದರಿಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
5ಔತಣದ ದಿನಗಳು ಮುಗಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಯೋಬನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಎದ್ದು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಲೆಕ್ಕದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು; ಯೋಬನುಒಂದುವೇಳೆ ನನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರರು ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿರಬಹುದು ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡನು. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಯೋಬನು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
6ಒಂದು ದಿನ ದೇವರ ಪುತ್ರರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಸೈತಾನನು ಸಹ ಅವ ರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
