ಅವನು ಆ ಬೆಳಕಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು.
Avanu aa belakalla. Aadare aa belakina vishayadalli saakshi kodu vadakke kaluhisalpattanu.

- 9ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಆತನು ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ ನಿಜವಾದ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
- 10ಆತನು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು; ಲೋಕವು ಆತನಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು; ಲೋಕವು ಆತನನ್ನು ಅರಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
