ಯೇಸು--ಹಗಲಿಗೆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ತಾಸುಗಳು ಇವೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ? ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದರೂ ಹಗಲಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡಿದರೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ನೋಡು ವದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಎಡವುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

- 9ಯೇಸು--ಹಗಲಿಗೆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ತಾಸುಗಳು ಇವೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ? ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದರೂ ಹಗಲಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡಿದರೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ನೋಡು ವದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಎಡವುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
- 10ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡಿದರೆ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕು ಇಲ್ಲವಾದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಎಡವುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
- 11ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಾದ ಲಾಜರನು ನಿದ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವದಾಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
