ಆಯಾ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೂತನು ಕೊಳ ದೊಳಗೆ ಇಳಿದುಹೋಗಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕದಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು; ನೀರು ಕದಲಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೊದಲು ಯಾರು ನೀರಿನೊಳಗೆ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೋ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ರೋಗವಿದ್ದರೂ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

- 6ಅವನು ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವದನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನು ಬಹುಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಆ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿನಗೆ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾ ಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸುಂಟೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
