ಆತನಿಗೆ -- ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ಈ ಹೆಂಗಸು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವಾಗಲೇ ಹಿಡಿಯ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಳು.

2ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಆತನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು; ಆತನು ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿ ದನು.
3ಆಗ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಹೆಂಗಸನ್ನು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಡುವೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ
4ಆತನಿಗೆ -- ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ಈ ಹೆಂಗಸು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವಾಗಲೇ ಹಿಡಿಯ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಳು.
5ಇಂಥವರು ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆಯಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮೋಶೆಯು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
6ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸುವವರಾಗಿ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೊರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದವ ನಂತೆ ಬೊಗ್ಗಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಬೆರಳಿನಿಂದ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆದನು.
