ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು--ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ಇವನು ಕುರುಡನಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದವರು ಯಾರು? ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೋ ಅಥವಾ ಇವನ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಗಳೋ ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು;

Aatana shishyaru--bodhakane, ivanu kurudanaagi huttiruvadakke paapamaadidavaru yaaru? Ee manushyano athavaa ivana tande taayigalo endu aatanannu kelidaru;

3ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಇವನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳಾಗಲಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ಇವನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುವದಕ್ಕಾ ಗಿಯೇ ಇದಾಯಿತು.
4ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾತನ ಕೆಲಸ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹಗಲಿರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು; ರಾತ್ರಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ, ಆಗ ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೂ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡ ಲಾರನು.
