ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನೆರೆಯವರೂ ಅವನು ಮೊದಲು ಕುರುಡನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವರೂ-- ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವನು ಇವನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದರು.

King James Version (KJV): The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

6ಆತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಗುಳಿ ಆ ಉಗುಳಿನಿಂದ ಕೆಸರು ಮಾಡಿ ಆ ಕೆಸರನ್ನು ಕುರುಡನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿದನು;
7ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಹೋಗು, ಸಿಲೋವ ಕೊಳ ದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಳೆದುಕೋ(ಸಿಲೋವ ಅಂದರೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವನು ಎಂದರ್ಥ) ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ತೊಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಬಂದನು.
8ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನೆರೆಯವರೂ ಅವನು ಮೊದಲು ಕುರುಡನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವರೂ-- ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವನು ಇವನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದರು.
9ಕೆಲವರು--ಅವನು ಇವನೇ ಅಂದರು. ಬೇರೆಯವರು--ಇವನು ಅವನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು--ನಾನೇ ಅವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
10ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ತೆರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು
