3. 3ಆದರೆ ಯೋನನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಎದ್ದು ಯೊಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದು ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅದರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದ ತೆರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ತಾರ್ಷಿಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದನು.
4. 4ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಹಡಗು ಒಡೆಯುವ ದಕ್ಕಿತ್ತು.
5. 5ಆಗ ಹಡಗಿನವರು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು; ಆದರೆ ಯೋನನು ಹಡಗಿನ ಒಳಗೆ ಇಳಿದುಹೋಗಿ ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಗಾಢ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ದನು.
